India Tops The Chart In Mobile Subscriber Growth – Ericsson Mobility

Ericsson Mobility has reported that during the quarter of July – September this year, India surpassed the world in terms of net growth of mobile subscribers with a 13% hike in the numbers. During this period, a new connection was activated every second.

13 million new connections were taken up in this period followed by China with 7 million,  US with 6 million and Nigeria with 4 million. The report also stated that 75% of all cell phone purchases during this time were smartphones.
