7th Year Of The 26/11 Attack, Terrorism Is Stronger Than Ever

National News, News

7 years ago, on this very day of 26th November, Mumbai was shaken by one of the most brutal terror attacks in history. 10 Pakistani terrorists reached Mumbai by sea and targeted important places like the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, Cama Hospital, the Oberoi Trident and the Taj Mahal Palace. They opened fire on innocent people and killed 166 people including servicemen.

Ajmal Kasab was the only terrorist arrested alive and after a lengthy trial he was hanged on 21st November, 2012. Like every year, the Maharashtra Government and Mumbai Police will pay respect to the victims of 26/11 at the 26/11 memorial in marine Drive.

Even though we are 7 years removed from that forgettable night, terrorism is stronger than ever in the world today. The terrorist group ISIL has captured land in Iraq and Syria while countless terrorists groups continue to operate in the middle east and Africa. The 13/11 terrorist attacks of Paris, which followed the exact same pattern as the 26/11 attacks remind us that the war is tougher than ever and we must fight on.
