Languishing at the bottom of the table, both Nicholas Anelka’s Mumbai City FC and Trevor Morgan’s Kerala Blasters desperately needed to win this match. But the 2nd encounter between Mumbai and Kerala ended in yet another. Both teams still remain at the bottom of the table with hopes of semifinal looking slimmer by the day.
Mumbai opened the account with Juan Aguilera’s strike at the 25th minute. Both teams created a few chances after that but failed to capitalize. When it looked like the lone strike would be enough to secure three points for Mumbai City FC, Kerala Blaster’s Antonio German drew level at the 86th minute to make it 1 – 1. Mumbai captain Sunil Chhetri was off color today and could not contribute much to the team.
