In the clash between number 1 and number 6, Atletico De Kolkata had a dream start to the match with Ian Hume’s goal on the 9th minute. Pune FC’s Romanian striker Adrian Mutu took a hard shot at ATK goal on the 26th minute but was denied by the post. Right after half time, Hume scored again from Borja Fernandez’s beautiful lobbed pass. Mutu’s volley on 53rd minute hit the post again.
On the 83rd minute Ian Hume scored his 3rd goal from Sameehg Doutie’s pass to seal the fate of the match. Adrian Mutu scored a goal with solo effort on the 84th minute. But it proved to be little as substitute Lekic scored on of his own at the 94th minute. ATK now moves to 23 points with this 3 points and are now clear through for a semifinal spot.
Pune FC had their fair share of chances throughout the match but capitalize only one. Mutu was denied by the post three times but managed a consolation goal towards the end. David Platt’s side has its task cut out to reach the semifinal.
