Delhi Test Day 4 – AB De Villiers, Hashim Amla Battle On, South Africa 72/2

Cricket, News, Sports

India has ensured that there are only two possible outcomes from the 4th test of the series, either a win for India or a draw. At the moment, a draw seems unlikely as the South African batsmen are throwing a dead bat at every ball and getting beaten every now and then.

The day started with expectations of a Kohli century. But Virat Kohli was LBW by Kyle Abbott after adding only 1 run to his overnight total. But Ajinkya Rahane went on complete his second century of the match and the second century of the series with support from Wriddhiman Saha. India declared on 267/5.

In reply, South Africa deadbatted everything that came their way. At the end of the day’s play, South Africa are 72 off 2 with their two most experienced campaigners Hashim Amla and AB De Villiers battling to keep their wickets intact. India came very close to picking Hashim Amla’s wicket when one ball from Shikhar Dhawan took the shoulder of his bat and popped up in the air but Cheteshwar Pujara could not get to it. South Africa has to dig deep tomorrow to save this match, India needs only 8 wickets to claim the series 3 – 0.
