After a hard fought battle in the courts, the “Two minutes of goodness” is back on the shelves and now it is one of the mainstay of government food aid to Chennai flood victims. The Ministry of Food Processing has listed 8 companies who are supplying a necessary ration of milk, biscuits, ready to make and ready to eat food products. ITC, Nestle and MTR are among other companies in the list.
Nestle has already supplied 50,000 pouches of coffee, 5,000 litres tetra packed milk and 10 MT noodles. Another 25-30 MT of noodles are on the way. Apart from Nestle, Britannia and ITC has supplied almost 3,500 boxes of biscuits and MTR has supplied 14128 packets of ready-to-eat food.
Minister of Food Processing Harsimrat Kaur Badal said in an statement, “It is time to stand up and make exemplary contribution for the flood affected people of Chennai who have been patronizing food brands and products manufactured by the industry.”
