ISL – FC Goa Makes A memorable Comeback Against Delhi Dynamos To Win 3 – 2

Football, News, Sports

It was a night for goals and it was a night for comebacks. The final group league match between Delhi Dynamos FC and FC Goa provided both. As many as 5 goals were scored, Goa pocketed the match despite being 2 – 0 down at half time and till the 90th minute it was impossible to say which team would have the last laugh. But incidentally it is FC Goa who would end as the group topper in ISL 2015.

Delhi started the match in perfect fashion as Robin Shingh, Florent Malouda, Adil Nabi and Vinicus kept the Goa defense under pressure. But it was Delhi’s Brazilian import Serginho Greene who opened the account on the 31st minute after Malouda took a beautiful free kick to set it up. 9 minutes later Adil Nabi found the net again thanks to a piercing through ball from Gedze and in the half time they were ahead at 2 – 0.

The second half saw a different Goa side with more intent to their play. But it all fell into place after Debabrata Roy was substituted for Romeo Fernandes. The substitute made his presence count by scoring Goa’s first on the 68th minute. Just two minutes later, Romeo tapped in a cross to erase any differences in the scoreline. Both teams played some pressing football with no luck. When it was looking like the match would end in a draw, Goa completed the memorable comeback via a 90 minute goal from Joffre to secure a 3 – 2 win over their North Indian rivals.
