Virat Kohli got the part timers like Murali Vijay, Shikhar Dhawan and himself to bowl a few overs during the 4th day of the Delhi test between India and South Africa. Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan came very close to picking up Hashim Amla with his offbreaks and bowled pretty nicely in general. But the report of the match has expressed concern over the legality of Dhawan’s offbreaks.
This will not come as a huge blow to Indian cricket as Dhawan seldom bowls in international matches buy Shashtri and Co. will no doubt try to wipe any blemish that might appear. Accordign to ICC, Dhawan has to undergo a test within the next 14 days as per ICC guidelines. Till the test result arrives, Dhawan can continue to bowl in international cricket but if the report finds his elbow folding more than 15%, he has to correct his actions and go for further tests.
