ISL – FC Goa Demolishes Delhi Dynamos 3 – 0 To March Into The Final Of ISL 2015

It was a night of resurgence and heartbreak at Fatorda stadium in Goa. heartbreak for the Delhi Dynamos players and fans who, despite taking a 1 – 0 lead in the first leg, were kept just a kissing distance away from entering the finals. A resurgence for Zico’s FC Goa who never stopped believing in themselves and on the night that mattered, proved to be the hungrier of the two.

Pundits had their bets on FC Goa as they missed a host of opportunities to lose their earlier encounter but were the better side by leaps and bounds. This evening, Goa finally proved it by putting up an al round display of solid defence and piercing attack. Delhi’s Florent Malouda sparked some moments of brilliance but those were too few and too far between.

Unleashing a torrent of attacks right from the word go, FC Goa created as many as as 3 chances within the first 10 minutes the last of which resulted in their first goal of the match. Joffre’s left footed shot found the back of the net. On the 22nd minute Romeo missed open goal but on the 27th, Rafael made up for it by making it 2 -0 . The teams went into halftime with FC Goa ahead 2 – 1 on aggregate.

The second half saw Delhi creating some opportunities but none had the finishing touch. Dudu drove the last nail in Delhi’s coffin as he slotted the ball for a third goal at the 83rd minute and Delhi’s hopes were more or less crushed at that very moment. FC Goa advanced to the finals of ISL 2015 on 3 – 1 aggregate. They will meet the winners of Atletico de Kolkata and Chennaiyin FC for the title on 19th December.
