News, Science, Technology

Indian tablet makers DataWind has come up with a brand new PC 7SC tablet retailing at only 2,999 INR. DataWind’s earlier Akash tablets had arrived with a bang but fizzled out later due to inferior hardware capacity, long wait times and substandard support. This time around, the manufacturer seems to have fixated upon internet to uplift the sales figures.

The PC 7SC comes with a year of free internet thanks to DataWind’s partnership with Telenor and Reliance. Manufacturer also claims that the tablet can reduce bandwidth consumption almost 10 times meaning even heavy content rich webpages will open under 10-12 seconds on slower 2G connection.

The device is powered by a 1.3 GHz single core processor, 512 MB of ram, 4 GB storage and 2400 mAh battery. Measured at 7″ it is more suitable in the “Phablet” category. At this moment the PC 7SC is only available via SnapDeal’s TV Commerce Channel.
