Forbes magazine has just released a list of the most overpaid Hollywood actors of 2015 and celebrated actor Johnny Depp tops the list. The list was created based on movies released before June, 2015. According to the list, an investment on Depp in 2015 returned only 1.20 USD for every 1 USD. This result was prompted by Depp starer ‘Mortdecai’ tanking in the box office making only 47.4 million USD compared to its production budget of 60 million USD. Depp’s 2014 sci-fi movie ‘Transcendence’ did not add any value to his ratings as it barely managed to break even.
Academy Award winner Denzel Washington is second on the list making the producers only 6.5 USD for every 1 USD spent on him. Will Ferrel who topped this list in 2009 and 2010 came third by making only 6.8 USD for every 1 USD. Superstars like Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, Ben Affleck and Will Smith are also on the list.
Forbes also published a list of the best value actors which is topped by ‘Captain America’ Chris Evans returning the producers 181.8 USD for every 1 USD spent on him. Mila Kunis is the second best value actor returning 87.3 USD for every 1 USD. Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is 10th best value actor of 2015 as he returned 28.1 USD for every 1 USD. There are 5 actresses in the beest value actor list including Mila Kunis, Scarlett Johansson, Gwyneth Paltrow and Emma Stone who make up the second, third, fourth and fifth spot and Jennifer Lawrence at eighth spot.
