UK rock band Radiohead have released the theme song they had composed for ‘Spectre’, the latest James Bond movie starring Daniel Craig. Radiohead lead singer Thom Yorke revealed that last year the band was approached to compose a theme for the movie but their version was rejected and Writing’s On The Wall by Sam Smith became Spectre’s theme instead.

Thom said on Twitter, “Yes we were. It didn’t work out, but became something of our own, which we love very much. As the year closes we thought you might like to hear it. Merry Christmas. May the force be with you.” The song is available on Soundcloud for all fans of the movie and the band.

The theme has already gotten positive reception all over. According to music critic Pete Paphides, “It sounds exquisite on first listen, sensational string arrangement.” Sam Smith’s Writing’s On The Wall, however, also did great as it became the first James Bond movie theme to reach UK Chart’s number 1 spot.
