Sania Mirza – Martina Hingis Reach Australian Open Quarterfinal

The top seeded ‘Santina’ pair continued their stunning form as they thrashed the pair of Svetlana Kuznetsova and Roberta Vinci to storm into the quarterfinal of Australian Open. The Indo-Swiss pair made short work of their Russian-Italian opponents by sealing the match in an hour and 20 minutes 6-1, 6-3.

in the quarterfinals ‘Santina’ will face the unseeded German-American pair of Anna-Lena Groenefeld and Coco Vandeweghe. Sania and Martina are of course the top seed women’s doubles pair in the tournament. They have also reached the third round of mixed doubles, Sania with Ivan Dodig and Martina with Leander Paes. The pairs will face each other in the 3rd round for a spot in the quarterfinal.

Indian Rohan Bopanna has also reached the third round with his partner Yung-Jan Chan of Chinese Taipei. They defeated Andrea Hlaváčková and Łukasz Kubot 4-6, 6-3, 10-6.
