Stolen Pablo Picasso Painting Recovered In Istanbul

Turkish police have managed to recover a stolen Pablo Picasso painting from art thieves called “Woman Dressing Her Hair.” The picture was allegedly stolen from an art collector of New York. Thieves were trying to sell the painting for 8 million dollars in the black market.

Turkish police posed as buyers and met the thieves several times to strike a deal of 7 million dollars. Finally they met and nabbed two people at a cafe on Friday, 29th January and eventually seized the painting. The Painting is said to be of Picasso’s lover Dora Maar. Painted in 1940, the painting depicts Dora in a distorted and grotesque manner. At the moment the painting is at the Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University of Istanbul.
