Manchester United’s keen interest in Jose Mourinho to replace in trouble Louis Van Gaal was further confirmed yesterday when Inter Milan dignitary Bedy Moratti remarked that Mourinho is going to Manchester. Mourinho visited Inter Milan’s match against Sampdoria following which he had dinner with Inter owner Massimo Moratti, his sister Bedy Moratti and their families. After dinner Bedy remarked, “It was pleasant. He’s still fantastic. He’s been missed on a human level. Now he’s happy — he’s going to Manchester and he’s well.”
The rumour about Manchester United and Jose Mourinho has been doing the rounds for some weeks now and this is the first time there is some sort of confirmation to it. His visit to Inter’s game also fueled rumours of him reuniting with his old club from 2010 but Mourinho denied the speculations straight away, “I have respect for every coach and every club. I’m not looking for a club, it is the clubs who seek me. One thing I want to clarify, I will not be in charge next season. Inter have a project and that is (owner) Erick Thohir and Roberto Mancini.”
Massimo Moratti was more tight lipped when asked about Mourinho’s plans, “I’m not sure. I don’t know if he wants to say,” is all that reporters got out of him.
