Gujarat Government To Ban Mobile Internet Today To Stop Exam Cheats

National News, News

In order to stop cheating at the Revenue Talatis Recruitment Exam of Gujarat State Subsidiary Selection Board to be held today, Gujarat government has taken the easy way of banning mobile internet for 4 hours today. The ban will be in effect throughout the state. The exams are to be held from 10 AM to 1 PM. According to Gujarat State Subsidiary Selection Board (GSSSB) Chairperson Asit Vora, government was requested to take this step in order to prevent cheating and paper leaks. Last year also the paper for Talatis Recruitment exam was leaked.

This step, however, begs the question whether government has taken the easy way out. Mobile internet is a useful tool in today’s world and cutting off paid users from the facility who have nothing whatsoever to do with the exam seems a rash decision. There is not much of retaliation against this decision so far.
