The source confirmed that Sahid Afridi’s performance as a captain, as a player and his comments on media are under close scrutiny. An inquiry committee was formed after Pakistan’s debacle and in the committee’s three meetings, Haroon Rasheed and members of the selection committee Kabir Khan, Saleem Jaffer and Azhar Khan pointed fingers at each other. Members of the committee said chief selector Haroon Rashid kept them in the dark regarding important decisions while Mr. Rasheed said the coach and the captain included some players in the squad without the committee’s wish.

As for Waqar Younis, PCB planned to extend him till England tour after the World T20 but he will have to bow out and in all likelihood make way for former Pakistani pacer Aaqib Javed. Javed had been a bowling coach for the Pakistan national team and has coached Pakistan U-19 and A team previously.
