Rare Blue Diamond Could Fetch Record Auction Amount In Asia

Blue diamonds are extremely rare and almost always fetch astounding amounts during auctions. One such flawless blue diamond named the De Beers Millennium Jewel 4. It is the largest vivid blue diamond at 10.10 carat to have ever been auctioned. According to Sotheby’s, the diamond could fetch 30 to 35 million USD, which will be a record auction amount in Asia.

The De Beers Millennium Jewel 4 will go under the hammer on 5th April in Hong Kong.  It will be part of the lot 270 which will contain some other rare gems set to fetch handsome bids. The highest ever auction amount recorded for a diamond is the 12.03 carat ‘Blue Moon’ which was sold for 48 million USD in 2015 in Geneva.
