Saina Nehwal Reaches Quarter Finals Of Indonesia Open

Saina Nehwal has reached the quarter finals of Indonesia Open after defeating world number 52 Fitriani Fitriani of Indonesia 21-11, 21-10. Saina is a former 2009, 2010 and 2012 winner of the Indonesia Open. She is currently the eighth seeded female singles player in the tournament. In the quart finals Saina will probably face world champion Carolina Marin of Spain. Saina’s track record against Marin is not good.

Except for Saina, no other Indian shuttler could make a mark at the Indonesia Open today in Jakarta. Female doubles team Jwala Gutta and Ashwini Ponappa lost to a Chinese duo today and the men’s doubles team of Manu Attri and B Sumeeth Reddy lost to a Korean challenge.
