National News, News

Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has come up with an app called DND Service. This app is available on Google Play store and soon to be made available on Apple Store. The app is aimed at handling Unsolicited Commercial Communication (UCC) and complaints easier and faster. Once you download the app, it asks for your mobile number and you are ready to go. Once you leave the main screen it takes you to 4 options: Report SMS UCC, Report Voice UCC, UCC Complaint Status and More.

Clocking on Report SMS UCC will open your phone’s SMS list and you can choose any SMS and click report. You can choose multiple messages at once. Similarly clicking Report VOICE UCC will show a list of unknown numbers from your call list and you can report them and also select the category under which to report them. Once you go to the More option, you can Register for DND Services and choose the commercial sectors you do not want to get any calls from. This is a great touch as you do not have to block yourselves from all promo information at once, just the ones you do not need.
