Twitter And Yahoo Hold Possible Merger Discussion

Business

According to reports, the micro-blogging behemoth Twitter is expressing interest in a possible merger with Yahoo. Before Google’s splurge, Yahoo was one of the most visited sites on the internet and it still retains a number of loyal subscribers. Twitter has recently been under pressure and it would definitely want the hardcore Yahoo users to switch over.

An executive team from Twitter met Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer a discussion. The absence of Twitter CEO Dorsey, however, spared speculations that this might just be a fleeting interest. Yahoo’s core internet business however is up for grabs and right now the front runner is Verizon. No official statement has been made by Yahoo or Twitter.
