Serena Williams Reaches 9th Wimbledon Singles Final

Serena Williams blasted past Elena Vesnina to set up her 9th Wimbledon singles final. In the final she will either meet her elder sister Venus Williams for German Angelique Kerber who berought upon Serena’s downfall in the French Open. A record equalling 22nd grand slam beacons Serena as this Wimbledon title will make her equal with Steffi Graff.

Serena finished the semifinal in just 48 minutes as she virtually toyed with Vesnina to win the match 6-2, 6-0. This was, however, Vesnina’s best showing on the singles circuit. Despite winning multiple doubles and mixed doubles grand slams, this was Vesnina’s first semifinal bout in a grand slam. Serena on the other hand has been in fine touch destroying her opponents mercilessly.
