Chitale Dairy Imports Chicago Bulls To Improve Milk Production In India

National News, News

Pune based dairy Chitale Genus ABS has imported 13 Holstein Friesian bulls, commonly known as Chicago Bulls, to boost milk production per animal in India. India is the largest producer of milk in the world but the per animal milk production is much lower than that of many western countries.

The bulls are genetically enhanced, hence cows mated with their frozen semen should be able to produce much larger amounts of milk than they do now. The bulls have been kept in quarantine in Kopar Khairane where they will be observed for a month. After that they will be taken to Chitale’s dairy in Bhilwadi. Managing Director of ABS (India) Dr. Arvind Gautam said, “Frozen semen from these bulls will be used by farmers for producing high quality cows that will produce more milk, thereby, leading to more prosperous dairy farmers.”
