Arianna Huffington announced on Twitter that she is vacating the editor-in-chief position of Huffington Post, a news aggregator agency she had co-founded in 2005. In the following years, Huffington Post grew at an extra-ordinary pace. AOL bought Huffington Post for 315 million USD in 2011 and Arianna was appointed the editor-in-chief.
After Huff Post, Arianna will be concentrating on a health and wellness venture called “Thrive Global.” The first round of funding for Thrive Global is already complete. During her time at Huffington Post, the agency has grew to have a remarkable local and international presence alongside being the only commercial US media agency to win the Pulitzer Prize.
I thought HuffPost would be my last act. But I’ve decided to step down as HuffPost’s editor-in-chief to run my new venture, Thrive Global.
