Kabaddi Tournament To Promote Inter-Caste Harmony Gets Violent In Gurgaon

In Gurgaon, Haryana, a Kabaddi tournament to promote inter-caste harmony is organised every year on the Independence day. This year also the tournament was held and everything was going well till the Dalits started to winning. The tournament has several castes forming teams and participating each year including Yadavs, Jats, Gurjars, Agarwals and Dalits.

On Monday, 15th August, a match was going on between the Dalits and Yadavs. The situation turned tense as the Dalits started to outperform the Yadavs. Violence erupted as soon as the results were announced. The Yadavs attacked Dalits injuring at least 10 people. Among the injured two are in critical condition. The Yadavs allegedly were carrying local made fire arms and even fired in the air. A police case has been lodged against 8 people of Yadav community.
