PV Sindhu Wins Maiden Super Series Title

Indian Badminton star PV Sindhu clinched her maiden Super Series title today after defeating Sun Yu in the finals of China Open Super Series. She had booked her final spot after defeating Sung Ji Hyun of Korea after coming back from behind. After the silver medal at Rio Olympics, Sindhu made it clear that she wanted to add Super Series titles to her kitty.

The final lasted lasted 69 minutes at Sindhu faced off against world number 4 and 8th seeded Sun Yu of China. She wrapped the match in her favor with a scoreline of 21-11, 17-21, 21-11. Sindhu had reached the final of Denmark Open Super Series in 2015 but lost to China’s Li Xuerui.
