Star Indian boxer Vijender Singh is set to take on Francis Cheka of Tanzania for the WBO Asia Pacific Super Middleweight Championship on 17th December but the sparks are already flying. A veteran of 43 professional bouts, the Tanzanian said he is going through gruelling training sessions and has promised to hand Vijender his first defeat in his own backyard.
Francis Cheka is expected to put up tough fight against Vijender who so far has blown away all of his opponents. Cheka is a former African title winners and has 17 professional career knockouts. His trainer Jay Msangi said that Cheka’s experience will be a factor against Vijender but he is not taking this fight lightly and putting in some hard yards.
Cheka said in a statement, “Jay has put me on some crazy training regime. It is increasing my strength and power day by day. Sure Vijender must have won all his professional bouts but lets not forget I have played 300 rounds and knocked down 17 of my opponents. Singh has no idea what he is going to face on the 17th of December. I am going to bring him down, like nobody’s business. I don’t think he thought before accepting my challenge. He has fought absolutely nobody up to now, I will show him what professional boxing means, I will hit him hard on his face that he will never think of professional boxing again”
