Founders of Flipkart Win “Asians Of The Year 2016” Award

Founders of Flipkart, Sachin Bansal and Binny Bansal, have been named “Asians of the Year 2016” by Singapore Newspaper The Straits Times. Bansal brothers bag this award as part of a group called “The Disruptors”. According to the award citation, “The Disruptors” are those people who have made the eruption of technology easily available to use and understand.

Flipkart said in a statement, “It validates our commitment to creating a world-class internet company that is transforming the lives of Indians by making a high quality lifestyle affordable to them.” This award was earlier bestowed on Indian PM Narendra Modi in 2014.
