With the new wind of digitization, Indians are getting more and more dependent on e-wallets and digital payment. But threats loom large above this newly adopted habit as home ministry warns citizens of 4 malicious apps developed by Pakistani cyber criminals. All of these apps masquerade as innocuous applications but have malwares hidden inside. Once installed hackers can easily access all of your sensitive data including e-wallet details, bank details and photographs.
These apps are Top Gun (game), BDJunkie (movies), MPJunkie (Music) and Talking Frog (entertainment). All of these apps are available on various app stores. Earlier this year, home ministry found out that terrorists obtained crucial information using an app called SmeshApp which was being used by some army personnel for the attack at Pathankot. Army personnel are also advised to not use Line and WeChat.
