National News, News

In recent months, a number of aircrafts were found to be leaking human waste while still in air, especially near the Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi. Many people suddenly found their houses covered in human fecal matter that rained down from the air. A plea was lodged by retired Lieutenant General Satwant Singh Dahiya claiming that these incidents were violations of “Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan.”

The National Green Tribunal passed a judgement that read, “DGCA shall also issue directions that aircraft on landing shall be subjected to surprise inspection to see that human waste tanks are not empty. If any aircraft is found to be violating such circular or (their) tanks are found empty on landing, they shall be subjected to environment compensation of Rs 50,000 per default.” Toilet tanks of aircrafts are supposed to be cleaned while on ground but many a time aircrafts fly with leaking toilet storages.
