Samsung is planning to launch refurbished Galaxy Note 7 phones in a bid to rebuild its reputation. Samsung’s reputation and goodwill took a huge hit when the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 phones started bursting and catching fire globally. Samsung quickly took in all the phones and provided buyers with replacements. Soon enough the replacements started bursting as well.
A probe into the problem found major issues with the battery compartment size which meant batteries were crimped at the corners which led to overheating. Samsung has already released Galaxy Note 8 since the debacle. The target market for refurbished Galaxy Note 7s is not finalized yet. The company is also planning to reuse and sell chips and other components from the Note 7s.
