According to reports, television and film actor Alka Kaushal has been sentenced to two years in jail for fraud, theft and money laundering. Her mother Vishwa Mohan Badola was convicted of the same crimes and has been sentenced to 2 years in prison as well. Alka Kaushal is a well-known television actor but she recently made her presence felt on the silver screen as well. She played the role of Kareena Kapur’s mother in the film “Bajrangi Bhaijaan” and Kangana Ranaut’s mother in the movie “Queen”.
According to reports, Alka and her mother had borrowed 50 lakhs from their acquaintance Avtar Singh under the pretext of making a daily soap. Upon asking for his money, Avtar Singh was given 2 cheques of 25 lakhs both of which bounced. A case was lodged at the Malerkotla court where the district judge found Alka and her mother guilty. Alka’s brother Varun Badola is also a well-known television actor.
