“Narcos” Could Be In Hot Water Following Crew Member’s Murder In Mexico
The critically acclaimed and popular Netflix series “Narcos” could be in hot water with its new and upcoming seasons following the death of a location scout in Mexico. Carlos Muñoz Portal was found dead in San Bartolo Actopan while he was scouting for new locations for season 4 of the series. His body was found with multiple gunshot wounds. After the incident, star of the show Pedro Pascal said in an interview to TMZ that the show should end if the lives of the crew and cast are put in jeopardy.
Pedro said, “We can’t do it if it’s not safe. We’re talking about lives. If they want to do it, they’ll figure it out in a safe way.” Carlos had previously worked in projects like “Sicario” and “Spectre”. The Netflix series has been a contentious one since the beginning as it unravels in minute details the rise and fall of several high-profile drug cartels in the history of Columbia, Mexico and Brazil. It comes as no surprise that the actors and crew could be on the radar of the cartel following the detailed depiction of cartel activities. Following the murder of Carlos, the show might shift season 4 shooting to Columbia. Season 4 of Narcos will depict the rise of Mexico’s Juarez cartel.
