Where there is zeal and passion, nothing is impossible. Jack Eyers from Dorset proved this age old adage once more as the lifted the crown for Mr. England at age 28 to become the first amputee Mr. England in history. Suffering from a congenital condition called Proximal Femoral Focal Deficiency in his right leg, Jack got his leg amputated aged just 16. But that did not stop him from realizing his dreams as he became Mr. Dorset and then became England’s contender in the Mr. World contest.
Jack is a fitness trainer and model who became the first amputee to catwalk at the New York Fashion Week in 2015. After his unprecedented win, Jack said, “The last five years I have made it my mission to raise the profile of disability in the fashion industry and to become a role model for other amputees and disabled people.” The Mr. World contest is held every two years meaning Jack will be at the throne till 2019.
